Automotive Blue Book Value

If you are looking to buy a new car, be sure to look in the Kelly blue book before you do. Using the automotive blue book is really the only way for you to know how much you should pay for a used car. The automotive blue book covers everything there is about used cars and pricing.

It tells you by make, model, year and condition, exactly what you should pay for just about any vehicle that you could possibly even run across! It is a veritable goldmine of pricing information. There are, however, a few big things that the Kelly automotive blue book is not really any good for. It is lousy, or even worthless for finding point by point reports of how well cars keep their utility. Sure, you can get some idea of what car might be worth buying by seeing which keeps its worth, and which does not do that at all, but that does not really tell the whole story.

This is why I am such a big fan of the consumer reports guide to car. Although it is not as good a guide to how much to pay as is the automotive blue book, it does have a lot of advantages that the latter does not. It will tell you almost everything about used cars.

It will show you expected life, the expenses of maintaining them, and point by point, which systems of the car are likely to need to be repaired or replaced, and which are not. There is really no more valuable source in the whole wide world for trying to figure out which car to get as your next one than the consumer reports guide. It is almost without parallel, if you are to ask me.

Automotive Air Conditioning

Keeping comfortable when you are driving is very important especially if you spend a good deal of time in your vehicle. Automotive air conditioning helps you stay nice and cool when you are traveling and this comes in handy when you have to travel for work.

Some jobs require quite a bit of travel and you can really put the miles on your vehicle. You can also find yourself a real mess if the weather is too hot. If you don’t have adequate automotive air conditioning you will find yourself sitting in a sweat bath. This can make your clothes wrinkle and it can make your antiperspirant give out.

I once had a job interview during the dog days of summer. Since I was a poor college student I owned an old beater that had no automotive air conditioning. I was so nervous before the meeting and the heat was literally on. I decided to forgo the meeting because I arrived in the parking lot a complete mess.

My clothes were wrinkled. My makeup was smeared and running down my face and I was soaking wet with sweat. I was so hot and so nervous that I just left. After that incident, I made sure to keep early morning appointments during the summer months. I also started looking for automotive air conditioning options for my old beater.

Driver Training

Driver training is essential for anyone who is learning to drive. This is not only for those new to the world of driving, but it’s also important for someone who wants to driver something they are unfamiliar with; be it a bus, a semi-trailer or a motorcycle.

When a young person is learning to drive they make look to their parents as teachers. Although the child is probably most comfortable with having his or her parents show them the ropes of navigating a vehicle, it’s not always the best choice.

Over time people tend to let their driving skills slip. They may not glance in the rear view mirror as often as recommended or they change lanes without signaling. If they are trying to teach another person how to drive without remembering the fundamentals, the bad habits can be passed on to others.

Driver training is serious and unless the parent takes the time to teach their child every aspect of driving, they shouldn’t undertake the lessons themselves. There are many accredited driver training companies in each city. Most of them offer a combination of in class teaching and in car lessons. The in class teaching is designed to familiarize the students with traffic laws and the basics of car safety.

Finding Good Auto Insurance

The cost of auto insurance will depend on many factors. One factor includes where you live. In some areas the cost of auto insurance will be higher due to increased automobile theft, of a higher rate of traffic accidents. Another factor that will affect the cost of auto insurance is your age. Young drivers generally have a higher cost for auto insurance than older drivers who have more driving experience.

What kind of car you drive also affects the cost of your auto insurance. A bright red rare sports car may very well cost more to insure than the standard family mini van. Those who set the insurance rates may decide that the sports car is more likely to be stolen or in an accident than the mini van.

Your gender, marital status, grades (if you are a student) all affect the cost of auto insurance. Young men are statistically in more accidents than women and so they pay a higher price for auto insurance. Married people statistically have fewer accidents and tend to pay less than their single counterparts. Young teenagers who have good grades are considered a better risk as well. Perhaps the adjusters feel that good grades mean more time studying and less time driving.

Searching For A New Car

When it comes time to replacing your vehicle, a new car search can prove to be time consuming and stressful to say the least. With so many different makes and models on the market all fighting for your business, it sure doesn’t make your new car search any easier. With each car dealership you visit, you will receive a whole new list of promises and offers, some more economical than others. But in a new car search, it is important to remember that money isn’t the only thing to consider. You will want to know everything about the new vehicle you are thinking about buying on your new car search, so it is wise to make sure you take the time to do a lot of research.

The first thing you will want to do on your new car search is to narrow the choices down to the top five car models. Once you have mastered that task, get as much information as you can on every vehicle still on the list. Make sure you know about warranties for each car and what is covered in those warranties. Also you will want to consider what the blue book price of the car will be once you drive it off the lot. It’s probably a good idea to go straight to the vehicle manufacturers for the information, just telling them it is for your new car search.

About Racing Engines

Auto racing is one of the world’s most popular pass times, and with good reason. There is a lot of excitement in watching auto races, and it couldn’t be done without racing engines. Racing engines make the world go round when it comes to auto racing. Without them, it would be more like putt-putt racing or slug racing. Racing engines are made for specific vehicle models, so performance can be utilized to its maximum potential. What this means for consumers that are into car racing is that you can pretty much score a racing engine for any model vehicle you own, making it into your own dream racing car.

Vehicles such as Hondas that are imports are widely known for their racing capability because of the engine resembling a racing engine of sorts. Therefore you won’t be surprised when you see a Honda on the racing track. Street racers usually customize their vehicles with racing engines to top their racing performance on the streets against others that are fans of the sport. This is probably the most commonly known function for racing engines besides professional car racing.

By doing a search on the internet, you can find many different manufacturers of racing engines that should offer what you are looking for. Being a consumer you won’t need the bells and whistles professional car racers will look for in racing engines, but you sure can find some cool stuff out there on the market.

Car Websites

Many car website companies charge a relatively high fee for this service, including update fees and management fees to keep the car dealer’s site up to date. MotoNet boasts reasonable prices for maintaining car websites while providing quality services and the latest technology. The company has developed a system that allows the car dealer to keep the vehicle website up to date. The management system is secure and user friendly.

MotoNet has a simple, easy-to-use design that is organized to accommodate users of all technological backgrounds. Employees can update, delete and add cars to the website with little effort or skill. Employees can create advertisements for the vehicles; create descriptions of the cars and pricing information. This accessibility is extremely valuable to car websites to insure that customers have the most current listings.

Car websites broaden a car dealer’s potential customer range. Anyone who has access to the Internet is a potential client. Good car websites will provide an easily navigated site for consumers as well. People visiting the site can shop for cars on the website from their homes. Someone who is interested in a certain vehicle can find details about the car and can request more information as well.

Improving Your Cars Gas Mileage

As a kid, I never learned, was taught how, or paid attention to finances, technical or mechanical or monetary or other responsibilities, and hence I never had a concept of taking note of one’s car’s gas mileage.

It wasn’t until a few years ago, really, that I cared about, paid attention to, and learned how to record my car’s gas mileage, and more importantly—WHY doing so is beneficial. My friend, a retired grocery store clerk who took on a new job tutoring, would often take me along on his Saturday errands. One of those errands involved filling his van’s gas tank. Once a week, my friend would pull up to the pumps, gas up, then get back in his van and pull from the glove box a little hand-size spiral notebook.

He would write down the date, the car’s mileage, and the amount of gas he had just put in.

At the times he did this, I would think that the act of recording one’s gas mileage was for him in character with the way his brain worked: a genius by most standards, my buddy was always calculating something, always reaching into the geeky pocket protector for a pen, often scribbling or discussing an innovative, historically based, or scientific idea. So I thought his recording his gas mileage was merely an additional intellectual activity he did to assuage the mental demons or ward off senior dementia or something.

How To Fight Traffic Tickets

Last year I rear-ended a car while on a freeway in stop-and-go traffic; he had slammed on his brakes and I wasn’t able to stop in time. We hit bumper-to-bumper, and though the front of my car wasn’t damaged and neither was the back of his car, the impact pushed the front of his car into a truck and banged up his front end. The police were called and an accident report was filed, and eventually we all drove away. A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail from the State Patrol; in it was a traffic ticket for inattentive driving. Sure, I probably shouldn’t have hit the guy, but I wasn’t inattentive. I decided to fight it.

Fortunately, I learned that it wasn’t particularly difficult to fight traffic tickets. In fact, the ticket gave me the option to sign an admittance and pay my fee or to report to the specified county office to talk to a traffic officer to fight the ticket. I did a quick Google search and learned that inattentive driving was a strict liability offense, meaning that the trooper who cited me would have to prove that I was driving inattentively in order for the ticket to stick. Feeling pleased with myself, I went in to see the traffic officer but was told that I needed a police report in order to properly fight the ticket.

That took another couple weeks to obtain, but eventually I returned. I showed up in a shirt and tie, with a few notes written down to allow me to argue the charge. The traffic officer looked over the police report, looked at the ticket, and then said “all right, the charge is dismissed.” After a few clicks on her keyboard I was free to go and free of the ticket and its $100 fine.

Car Shipping Tips & Information

Car shipping is simply the method of transporting your vehicle from point A to point B. As consumers, there are a few things that are very important when choosing someone who is in the car shipping business. First, when considering car shipping, the cost to ship is very important. Is their price for car shipping competitive and reasonable? Second, I need to know if the business has a good quality and safety record. Will the methods they use for car shipping assure me that my vehicle will arrive safely and in one piece at the destination? Finally, it is important to consider punctuality when considering a car shipping business. Will my vehicle arrive when it was promised to arrive?

Some car shipping is only domestic. Other shippers deal with international countries. When looking for a car shipping business, you must consider from where you will start and what your destination will be. How much experience does the company have in shipping to that destination?

I think it is fairly safe to say that most folks would jump at the chance to own a 2006 Cadillac Escalade. Car Fuel Efficiency

One of the very first questions that car users ask each other is, “What is your car fuel efficiency?” And naturally! Everyone who drives a car is bound to be concerned about car fuel efficiency. Not everyone buys their cars based on the car fuel efficiency alone, but it would be safe to presume that it is one of the foremost considerations. It is much more than a mere technical obsession. The running cost of the car, not to mention the maintenance aspect, depends solely on the car fuel efficiency.

Most people whine and crib about their car fuel efficiency, but seldom do little else! People believe that it is the responsibility of the car manufacturer or the mechanic to keep the car performing at its optimum efficiency. But little do they realize that there is a whole lot that they themselves can do to ensure their car fuel efficiency.

For one thing, they can drive carefully and in accordance with the manual for efficiency. The car manual exists for a reason. And that is to ensure that the gear changes and the driving speeds work in tandem to give your car the maximum fuel efficiency. If you drive on a very low gear for instance when a higher gear would work just as well, it is natural that the fuel efficiency will drop. So learning to understand the efficiency levels of driving and following them well will go a long way in ensuring car fuel efficiency.

1995 Acura Legend

I got my 1995 acura legend used for what I think was a good price. You see, it had some problems with it. The previous owner hadn't been very good to it, and so the suspension needed major work. As a result, I got my 1995 acura legend for 950 bucks. For most people, this would not be such a good deal, because then they'd have to put in lots of money for a new suspension, but as I own an auto shop, I could do the work myself, and make a fun and enjoyable hobby out of fixing up my 1995 acura legend.

Now that its running, I've got to say that the 1995 acura legend is really a pretty solid car. It gets decent mileage, purrs like a new vehicle, and not like one thats more than ten years old, and has had no other major problems at all. Part of this, is that the previous driver only used it occassionally so, although he had managed to completely trash the suspension, he had done so without putting major mileage on it.

Now that it belongs to me, though, the 1995 acura legend has to work a good deal more frequently. Besides commuting to work, which is about 20 miles each way, I often go to the beach on weekends. Not the nearby one, but Stinson Bay up north, where my good buddy Joe lives. He has parties up there almost every weekend, so I take those twisty highway 1 roads up in my 1995 acura legend with joy and ease, looking out all along at the beautiful ocean below me.

The other weekend was the best one of all. Besides having a great beach house, Joe plays a mean keyboard. I can play a little guitar, and many of his other friends are musicians, so we spent the whole weekend just sitting on the beach playing our hearts out, listening to the waves come and go. To say it was heavenly would be an understatement. There is really nothing like it at all, just hanging out with friends on the ocean, drinking beers, and playing good music. I'm glad my 1995 acura legend was dependable enough to make it, because the last car I drove once broke down on highway 1 – that little switchback, two lane highway running up the coast. And if there is one place where you don't want to break down, that's it.
